Day of Giving Scholarship
The Day of Giving Scholarship will be set up to provide a student the opportunity to receive fully paid tuition and graduate from the K.A.R.A.T. School of Learning. A scholarship for a student to attend their next year at K.A.R.A.T. is a wonderful thing, but knowing they will be there until graduation is an answered prayer. This scholarship will be in honor of all those who donated to make the scholarship possible. With the Westmoreland Community Foundation’s “Day of Giving” pledge to match the funds we raise on December 1st, we have the opportunity to fund the four year scholarship for half the cost. Being able to offer a full scholarship from freshman year until graduation makes December 1st not just “The Day of Giving” but also the Day of Blessing, the Day of Joy, the Day of answered prayer for Westmoreland County students. We can come together and change the life of a local student.
The Westmoreland County Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any high school student who is a resident of Westmoreland County. The scholarship will be created to help groom business and civic-minded students who, after earning their degree, plan on living and working in Westmoreland County. The main focus of the scholarship is to encourage graduates from the area to stay in Westmoreland County and use their education to help keep Westmoreland County strong. This scholarship will be awarded by an advisory board made up of local residents, business men and women, and a representative from local politics. The decision will be based on a an essay and a series of interviews pertaining to how the student would help impact the future of Westmoreland County for the greatest good. This scholarship would be open to freshmen and sophomores only, and by funding it through “The Day of Givin,” we again have an opportunity to provide not just one year for a student but their entire high school career. Thank you for helping us reach the students in Westmoreland County that need us the most.
